We all love to dress up—whether it’s for a special occasion or just a casual day running errands for the family or for work, we all want to look at our best. Part of being into the styling game is also having your favorite pieces of clothing and accessories. For this post, I will share to you my current obsessions but before we get to it, let me just say that my style is more into a sporty, cool-girl theme so if you’re expecting dresses and high-heels, then you can stop reading from here. (Just kidding! Keep scrolling though).
So without further ado, here are my favorite pieces as of the moment.
Classic denim jacket. Fashion trends undergo a cycle and with that, some pieces will not be in demand, maybe because of the changing seasons or consumer preference. But if there’s one piece of clothing that you should invest on, it’s this staple item. Why? Because you can wear it all year round and it’s like one of those “basics”—meaning you can pair it with almost everything. I prefer the baggy ones—probably from the men’s section—because it’s much comfortable, sporty and it creates a relaxed image.
Patched shirt. Sure, patches were a hit from last year but I still dig them up to this moment because they’re fun and they give you that cool-girl vibe. I got one from the SM Department Store (again, from the men’s section) and boy! I just love these colorful comic sound effects patched on a clean white shirt. I just wish its neckline was closer to my neck though. Also, I prefer the patch to be on the upper right or left side of the shirt.
Fishnet stockings/tights underneath ripped denim jeans. I am so impressed by whoever started this trend. I used to think stockings are just for skirts but I was wrong all along. This undergarment just made wearing ripped jeans cooler than ever. As for the jeans, I would prefer mom jeans so that I would draw attention towards my waistline and to hide my protruding little belly (Yep, I have a belly even though I’m skinny). For this post, I just used my boyfriend jeans so you might have to excuse it if my belly is visible and it ruins the ensemble. 😛
Lemonade Sunglasses. This is quite a bold color to wear but I’m into the old school vibe nowadays so, I did not hesitate to grab a pair. Plus, it adds a pop of color to a monochromatic ensemble and compliments well on denim (more old school vibe) so why not?
Here’s the look that I created combining the above-mentioned items.
Lemonade-tinted sunnies – Sunnies Studios
Classic Men’s Denim Jacket – Hauled it from Mom’s closet
Patched Round Neck White Shirt – Tee Culture from the SM Store
Distressed Boyfriend Jeans – Penshoppe
Fishnet Tights/Stockings – Some random store
Shoes – KICKS from the SM Store
So, what do you think? Will you dare to rock these pieces? Leave a word or two in the comments section below.
